Questions III rassemble des textes très différents dans leur forme. La «poésie» philosophique du Chemin de campagne, de L'Expérience de la pensée et de Sérénité constitue une innovation stylistique en un sens éminent puisqu'il s'agit d'un langage qui entend «dépasser» le discours de la métaphysique. La Lettre sur l'humanisme est un traité fondamental où Heidegger clarifie sa position par rapport à l'existentialisme et au marxisme - c'est ce texte qui a inspiré tout le courant français marqué par Althusser, Foucault, Lacan et Derrida.
